Objective
To give user current travel advice and smart driving advice such as Handling the right speed and giving while driving can help to make better use of the space on the route of A67 and A58. It aims to make traveling fluently, safer, clearer and more comfortable. By using Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) projects, the ‘Optimising Use’ programme wants to inform and assist travelers, transporters and other interested party’s in advance and during their journey. The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment and the 12 ‘Optimising Use’ regions in the Netherlands work together on better traffic flow
Description
ZOOF originated from a collaboration between the government and the business community and was developed within the framework of Brabant InCar III and Spookfiles A58.ZOOF is an app for Android and iPhones that can run as a second screen in the car and advises the road user’s current individual travel advice when driving so that they can modify their driving behaviour like handling the right speed, giving space when inserting and handling the right lane to counteract the formation of a traffic jam. Road users gain points if they comply with the advice from the app. The points acquired using ZOOF generate a range of benefits from the partners, companies that are allied with ZOOF. Currently, ZOOF is only available for A67 and A58, allowing you to drive from Tilburg to Eindhoven and Venlo with ZOOF.
